This article tries to take a stab at a presumed monolithic group called “New Atheists” but ends up succumbing to its own argument against scientific dogmatism or Chance-worshipping. Chance is a human invention to make sense of this predicament we all share called “Existence”— and it feigns no allegiance to its own infallibility — and since it’s composed of humans undertaking the enterprise of discovery of knowledge, it’s by construction, imperfect and susceptible to imperfections of emotions, dogma, irrationality and yes, belief and faith. Science is an elaborate web of stories that encompasses the 21st century zeitgeist in pursuit of knowledge just like any other period in history (like the Sumerians believed in their pharaoh being a god) — with a crucial difference: and that’s the burden of evidence. Both story-webs have (had) their place in history that has brought humanity this far.
